Paulo & Lanna

Paulo & Lanna – Professional Kizomba Dancers – Lisbon, Portugal.

Paulo Cruz & Lanna Zamora are Professional Kizomba Dancers and Kizomba Embassy Ambassadors living in Lisbon, Portugal. Both of these dancers are originally from Luanda, Angola.

Paulo was born in Angola and arrived in Portugal when he was twelve years old. Like for many Angolans, the music and rhythm are in his blood. Paulo started dancing Kizomba at the age of fifteen, when he began to attend many local African Dance parties in Lisbon.

Lanna was also born in Angola and started to dance traditional African dances when she was just eight years old. Then at the age of eleven years old, she moved to Lisbon, Portugal to continue her education.

Both of these dancers were selected and became members of the Ballet Traditional KILANDUKILU, which was started over thirty years ago and led by the famous Angolan teacher Mestre Petchú.

In this group they were able to develop and hone their dance skills in traditional African Dances such as Afro House, Kuduro, Tarraxinha, Tribal, Semba, and Kizomba.

As a result of his advanced Kizomba training, Paulo participated in the 2011, International Kizomba Championship in Lisbon and won 3rd place! Besides dancing, Paulo is also finishing his educational studies in Information Technology as an IT Specialist.

They now teach Afro House, Kuduro, Tarraxinha, Tribal (African Rhythms), Semba and Kizomba in Lisbon and around the world. They have also been invited to some of the largest and most prestigious African Dance Festivals & Events in Europe and Africa.

This young and talented couple represents the true traditional side of dance, culture and Angolan heritage, where ever they travel.

They are also well known in the Lisbon, Portugal area for organizing several of the most popular Kizomba and Semba Festivals in Europe, which include the Christmas Kizomba Festival and
Semba No Pé Festival, both held yearly in Lisbon, Portugal.

According to many of the festival attendees, this couple have a special way of making everyone feel welcome and part of the family at their festivals.
